On the 9th October 2024 at 3 : 00 PM Armed militias ambushed and attacked civilians who were on their way to Agok Rum-Amer County of Abyei Special Administrative Area, the attacker killed (1) one person, a clinical officer in charged of Agok hospital the incident took place at a kilometers away from the base of SSPDF (Abyei – Twic Mission) the suspect have been targeted to have gone back to athony-Ayouk SSPDF barrack we Therefore call upon SSPDF General Apprehend the culprit without delay.
The Abyei Special Administrative government Condemns this continuous barbaric attack on civilian in strongest teams possible and call uppon UNISFA and SSPDF deployed in Agok, Athony, and other parts within Abyei box to live up their mandates and rendered effective security protection to the civilian and underscore the fact that re-curring killing at the same point between wunpeth and wauachin ,on Agok road amounts to a clear negligence from the security bodies within the area.
The attackers are tracked to their final destination which Athony- Ayouk, where SSPDF (Abyei – Twic Mission) based, therefore, the confirmed culprits are from Mission we called upon the commander of the Mission to Apprehend these culprits without delay.
Once again, the Abyei Special Administrative Area government would like to convey its sincere and profound condolences to family of the deceased and to Ngok Dinka Community and the entire South Sudanese people for this tragic loss.
