Abyei – 5th October, 2024, the government of Abyei Special Administrative Area, on Saturday commemorated World Teachers day at the premises of the Ministry of Education.
The occasion was officially graced by the Acting Chief Administrator of Abyei Special Administrative Area and Deputy Hon. Deng Arop Mading, in the attendance of the Minister of Education, Hon. Nyinkwany Aguer Bol, Paramount Chief of Nine (9) Ngok Dinka Dr. Bulabek Deng Kuol, Head Teachers, Teachers and Students. Also in attendance were the Education partners (donors) led by Save the Children.
In his keynote address, the Acting Chief Administrator of Abyei Special Administrative Area and Deputy Hon. Deng Arop Mading, undescroed the greater contribution Teachers make to ensure learners are provided with excellent environment for learning.
The Acting Chief Administrator reaffirmed the committment of the government of Abyei Special Administrative Area, led by the Chief Administrator, H.E. Amb. Dr. Chol Deng Alak, in ensuring the provision of quality education as well as improvement of teachers incentives, in order to meet their daily needs. He further commended the role being played by the Ministry to ensure quality education for all.
While congratulating the Teachers for their resilience, hard work and commitment despite existing challenges, Hon. Deng Arop Mading, the Acting Chief Administrator and Deputy acknowledged the unwavering support of the education partners in Abyei. He additionally, renewed the government appeal for a more robust support.
In his remarks, the Minister of Education Hon. Nyinkwany Aguer Bol, assured the Acting Chief Administrator of the commitment of his Ministry in ensuring the betterment of Education and creation of a network to strengthen the educational system. He concluded his remarks by saying and of quote; ” Let’s remember by empowering Teachers we can build Greater Nation”.
