Abyei Ministry of Education receives Six (6) newly Constructed Temporary Classrooms and one (1) office at Abyei Boys Secondary School.

Abyei– On Tuesday, 22nd October 2024; Abyei Boys Secondary School benefitted from the construction of six (6) temporary classrooms and an office.The handing over occasion was officially witnessed by the Acting Chief Administrator and Deputy, Minister of General Education and Instructions as well as the UNISFA Acting Head of Mission and the Chief of Mission Support Division (CMS).Speaking during the occasion Ms. Uchenna Odenigbo stated that; Boys should be empowered also like the way girls were empowered in many occasions to create a bright future for them.She further stated that these efforts being undertaken marks the beginning of a collaborative approach that was initiated by INDBATT II and the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA). In addition Ms. Uchenna underscores that the initiative highlights the commitment of both INDBATT II Battalion and UNISFA, to support the Educational Infrastructure in the Area. She additionally stated that the classrooms and the office will serve to enhance the learning experience for students, ensuring they have a conducive space for their academic pursuits. This milestone is a testament to the power of partnership and dedication to the future of Abyei’s youth.On his part, the Minister of General Education and Instructions Hon. Nyinkwany Aguer Bol, acknowledged and appreciated UNISFA, for handing over , the classrooms and one (1) office stating that ; “Today we see more than just structures and furnitures; we see the bright faces of our students, filled with ambition and dreams. They are the embodiment of our collective efforts and a testament to what can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal”. Addressing the occasion, the Acting Chief Administrator and the Deputy, Hon. Deng Arop Mading appreciated the generous support provided by the United Nations Interim security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) to the community and further urged them to continue supporting the Education Department in Abyei Area, in particular, in areas of Teachers incentives as it will impact the education system, since it will be another motivational policy of promoting fruitful education.

The handing-over occasion was witnessed by Hon. Makuei Angok Gach, the Acting Speaker of Abyei Legislative Council, Hon. Achuil Mijak, the Chairman of specialized Committee on Education in the Abyei Legislative Council, Abyei Complex Secondary Teachers, PTA representatives Mr. Agaker, the Acting Mayor who is also the Deputy Mayor of Abyei Mrs. Afaf Arop Ajing , Acting Director Hon. Chol Mangom Awic and the Senior four Candidates.
