The South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) is an independent agency of the South Sudanese government that coordinates and regulates humanitarian activities in the country. The RRC’s mandate includes:
- Updates the security situation for the humanitarian in the area.
- Attends coordination meeting for all UN agencies.
- Monitor and report activities of all NGOs and INGOS Weekly or monthly
- Project planning and program activities for a year.
- Coordinating relief, repatriation, rehabilitation, and resettlement
- Training on disaster management: Training on disaster management
- Coordinate the processing of Passports and Visa for International staff/Regional staff.
- Resettling internally displaced persons: Resettlement of internally displaced persons in coordination with the IOM and UNOCHA
The RRC is the operational arm of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and its headquarters are in Juba. The RRC has representation at the State, County, and Payam levels, but operations are not decentralized to those levels.
