The Chief Administrator H.E. Amb. Dr. Chol Deng Alak, receives at the Coordination Office in Juba, the UNISFA Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander Maj.Gen. Robert Affram, discuses areas of general cooperation with UNISFA.

Juba- 31st October, 2024, H.E. Amb. Dr. Chol Deng Alak, the Chief Administrator of Abyei Special Administrative Area, received on Thursday at the government coordination office in Juba, the Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), Major General. Robert Affram, to generally discuss areas of mutual cooperation between the government of Abyei Special Administrative Area and UNISFA.

The Chief Administrator’s meeting with the UNISFA Acting Head of Mission and Force Commander discussed and resolved to deepen the existing cooperation in order, to further provide the Area with maximum Security and protection so that people can move freely.

The meeting also resolved to further enhance the collaboration and coordination in order to assist in the rehabilitation of internal roads in the area.

After lengthy deliberations, the two leaders agreed to continue meeting again for more discussions.

The meeting was attended by senior government officials in particular, Hon. Monylauk Aguer Rou, Chief Administrator’s Legal Advisor, Hon. David Atem Payien, SPLM Secretary-ASAA, Hon. Chol Changath Chol, Minister for Peace Building: ASAA, Hon. Malony Tong Ngor, Minister for Finance and Economic Planning- ASAA and Hon. Ajak Deng Miyen, Commissioner for Relief and Rehabilitation Commission- ASAA.
Also in attendance were Senior Staff of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).
