The government of Abyei Special Administrative Area released a statement to condemn the initiated, none-popular self-governance call initiated by the unregistered Abyei Voice for Security and stability Committee.

Despite being cautioned not to carry out the protest, the AVSS, illegally conducted the protest on Sunday 27th october,2024 in Abyei without following the due procedures , as a result of the action, the protest caused unnecessary frictions and confusion among members of the community.
The government of Abyei Special Administrative Area, therefore, wants to categorically assure the people of Abyei and the government of the Republic of South Sudan that; the protest carried out by Abyei Voice for security and stability (AVSS) is a none-popular demand for Ngok Dinka and only represents the view of few followers of the AVSS. The action was a cooked doctrine meant to cause confusion and divert the attention towards the Abyei Final Status.
The government of ASAA, therefore, condemns this act in the strongest terms possible and calls upon the general public to disregard it.
The government further calls upon AVSS to pursue legal registration before reforming any other activities in the Area.
