Abyei Minister of Education and Instructions accompanies the visiting High Level European Union delegation in the inspection of Abyei Vocational Training Centre (AVTC) =========================

Abyei- On Tuesday, 8th October, 2024, the Minister of Education and Instructions, Hon. Nyinkwany Aguer Bol, accompanied the visiting High Level European Union delegation headed by Amb.Timo Olkkonen, in the inspection of Abyei Vocational Training Centre (AVTC).

The delegation visited the Vocational Training Centre to assess the general training being undertaken at the Centre.

In the inspection visit, the High level European Union delegation toured around major Departments in the AVTC namely; Computers, Tailoring, Business Management, Catering, Hospitality and Masonry.

Speaking at the inspection site, the Minister of General Education and Instructions, Hon. Nyinkwany Aguer Bol, thanked the EU delegation for visiting Abyei as well as for paying a courtesy visit to the AVTC.

The Minister briefed the High level delegation, on the important role the AVTC played in equipping youth and women with necessary skills which significantly helped in reducing the rate of unemployment in the area.Minister Nyinkwany commended the International Organization for Migration (IOM ) and its team for running the Abyei Vocational Training Centre (AVTC).

In conclusion, the Minister appealed to the European Union delegation to extend more support to the Vocational Training Centre (AVTC), in order to guarantee its long-run sustainability.

While acknowledging the historical visit, Minister Nyinkwany renewed his Ministry’s appeal for the extension of AVTC activities, for the purpose of providing more training and expansion in areas of Electricity, Mechanics and Agricultural Technology, in order to move from traditional cultivation to modern technology. _________________________________
